Australian Professional League (APL) is raising $100-150M from private capital through FIFA’s go-to advisor, Raine Group. With its separation from Football Australia at the end of 2020, APL, which runs A-League and W-League, it now has the operational and financial control of the top-tier competition. APL has recently also secured new broadcasting agreements, during the time that is proving to be pivotal for Australian professional soccer. Soccer has attracted a lot of attention from private capital across the world, as the investors look to help transition sporting organisations into institutions.

This added exposure of the league will undoubtedly bring the spotlight of international private capital and strategic acquirers. Melbourne Victory has an outstanding track record within the A-League as the most supported club, as well as the only the only club to have won all four domestic trophies in the modern era of Australian soccer.
