Venture Capital firm Antler has announced it will launch in new office space in Sydney, aimed at bringing 50 new start-ups to fruition within the coming year and 200 companies within the next four years.

Antler works with ambitious entrepreneurs from the ground up, helping them to overcome the barriers to starting their own business. There is no need for an idea, a co-founder or even any experience. Antler’s global network of over 150 advisors helps start-ups to find the right co-founders by leveraging their global networks, experience and recruitment processes. It allows entrepreneurs the opportunity to connect, launch and grow their businesses.

Former Chief Executive of TechSydney, Bede Moore will head up the Australian program, with the first cohort of 100 people starting the program in June 2019. The program will focus on targeting those entrepreneurs currently working for large corporations, looking to make a change. To assist professionals to make the change, Antler provides $4, 000 per month during phase one to give a financial buffer to those walking away from their current jobs.

After two months, start-ups have the opportunity to pitch for a further four months in the program, along with an additional $100, 000 to grow their enterprise.

The asset class where the market has no vote

Litigation funding returns are decided in a courtroom, not a cycle. Knightsbridge’s Head of Capital is careful to call that a different risk rather than a lower one, and his answer to it is spread, not concentration. Most alternative assets still answer to something. Property answers to rates. Private credit answers to defaults. Even the […]

The listing fee vendors pay whether the house sells or not

Australia’s property portals collect more than $2 billion a year while national listings sit flat. An Australian-built AI platform is targeting the economics, not just the interface. An Australian vendor listing a home pays a vendor-paid advertising fee on top of agency commission. Rama Dwarapudi, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of RealSearch, puts a typical […]
