Power Ledger has paired with BCPG to launch a peer-to-peer (P2P) renewable energy trading trial. Thai utility Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) is allowing access to its network in order for successful physical transaction of energy between participants. The P2P platform will be dependent on rooftop solar systems that are expected to cover around 20% of the community’s need for electricity.

BCPG’s job is to design and install the meters, solar PV, and connections. Power Ledger, on the other hand, will provide its blockchain technology to enable P2P trading, monitor energy transactions between participants, and evaluate the trading position of individual participants. The entire trading transaction will be executed through Power Ledger’s Sparkz token, which is unaffected by cryptocurrency exchange rates.

After the trial, Power Ledger and BCPG aim to spread the solution across 31 new projects over the next 3 years.

Litigation funding returns are decided in a courtroom, not a cycle. Knightsbridge’s Head of Capital is careful to call that a different risk rather than a lower one, and his answer to it is spread, not concentration. Most alternative assets still answer to something. Property answers to rates. Private credit answers to defaults. Even the […]

The listing fee vendors pay whether the house sells or not

Australia’s property portals collect more than $2 billion a year while national listings sit flat. An Australian-built AI platform is targeting the economics, not just the interface.
