Ausbil Investment Management is pleased to announce Global SmallCaps Portfolio Managers Simon Wood & Tobias Bucks will be presenting at Wholesale Investors’ upcoming Sydney Investor Showcase at the ASX on 31 October in Sydney.
Simon & Tobias are the lead portfolio managers for Ausbil’s Global SmallCap Fund.
Meet the team:
Simon Wood, CFA, Portfolio Manager, Global Small Caps:
Simon has over 18 years of investment experience working in both London and Sydney for AMP Capital, Barings and FactSet.
Before emigrating to Australia, Simon was a Director, Quantitative Research for 11 years at Baring Asset Management in the United Kingdom and Hong Kong.
Prior to joining Ausbil, Simon spent 4 years at AMP Capital as an Investment Consultant in relation to several key transformation projects which delivered superior outcomes for clients and significant improvements in business efficiency.
Tobias Bucks, Portfolio Manager, Global Small Caps:
With an MA (Hons) in Social Anthropology Tobias took the route into the financial markets sector.
He has over 14 years of experience working in Sydney and London with companies such as Newton Investment Management, Barings and CLSA.
Prior to joining Ausbil, Tobias was Senior Analyst, on the sell side, at Phillip Capital. He was responsible for the management of the Research Team and research product.
Before moving to Australia, Tobias was Fund Manager at Baring Asset Management in the United Kingdom, where he was responsible for managing global small cap funds and mandates for retail and institutional clients, including the Baring Europe Select Trust.
He was the second in charge of the Baring Global Small Cap desk which managed over $3bn in global small cap strategies.
The Fund recently launched in May 2018 and since inception has returned investors 10.75% (gross of fees).
