Asian Expansion Helps Boost Vocus Results

Winning business from Asian carriers operating on the Singapore route and the flow through of benefits from the expanding cloud market has helped Australian-listed telecommunications provider of Data Centre, Dark Fibre and International Internet connectivity, Vocus Communications, to a big increase in earnings and an expansion in revenue to $45.29 million for the full year 2012.

Vocus (ASX:VOC) launched its Asian expansion during the year with a Singapore Point of Presence (POP) and CEO, James Spenceley, said the company had recorded a 69.8 percent increase in underlying Earnings Before Interest, Tax, Depreciation and Amortisation (EBITDA) to $16.67 million for the full year 2012, compared to $9.82 million for the full year 2011, and a net profit after tax increase of 52.1 percent to $8.44 million (FY11 $5.55 million).
