Angus Taylor, the Federal Minister for Energy, announced the Australian Government’s support through the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA), for Wave Swell Energy’s King Island project in Tasmania. ARENA will provide the project with $4 million in non-dilutive grant funding, representing a major validation of the Wave Swell technology. Wave Swell Energy is installing a pilot-scale 200-kilowatt wave energy converter that harnesses the rise and fall of water levels to generate electricity off the coast of King Island. This funding is the culmination of a detailed and comprehensive due diligence process conducted by ARENA.
