KEY TAKEAWAYS:

  • Mobilicom announced that the company has successfully executed the field trial of POC wherein it created a network mesh between various units by deploying MCU-200.
  • Owing to the successful application of augmented reality, the field trial proved that it was possible to establish communication between aerial and ground units and facilitate sharing of information in real time.
  • This success in Sri Lanka has given Mobilicom the confidence to deploy this solution is other parts of the world too to assist with security, surveillance and search-and-rescue operations.

Mobilicom released an update on its successful execution of POC – Proof of Concept – field trial that had been held in Sri Lanka. This trial was conducted in collaboration with the local security units and rescue teams wherein Mobilicom deployed its MCU-200 units on helicopters as well as ground stations and created a mesh of network between all parties.

One of the outstanding aspects of this field trial was the successful application of Augmented Reality capabilities, wherein the aerial teams could communicate with the ground-based units and gain awareness of the situation in real time. This was regarded as being a major achievement, considering that it facilitated sharing of information between the various units in real time and helped increase awareness.

Because this system solution is meant to enable security forces and rescue teams to observe the
situation spread over large geographical areas, it is ideal for carrying out disaster relief and for
organizations like coast guard that are in charge of surveillance, security and search-and-rescue
operations. Such events involve multiple elements and coordination between them is crucial for
the exercise to succeed.

Courtesy of the success of this field trial, Mobilicom is now in a position to promote this solution the world over and is hoping to bag high-volume projects in multiple jurisdictions. Oren
Elkayam, CEO of Mobilicom, expressed satisfaction at the successful completion of the field trial and said that the company was looking forward to marketing this solution that appeared to fulfill a crucial requisite.
