Why Dealing With Australia and UK Startups Attractive To Investors

Based on data from Crunchbase, Australia has $145 per capita invested into startups annually. In the UK, that amount is 2.25x higher.

Having worked in both countries, some factors can explain this difference (tax incentives, cultural differences, risk appetites, etc.). But from an Australian perspective, I don’t feel that it’s down to a lack of quality deals. The ecosystem is growing rapidly, and the quality and diversity of companies I see are incredible.

For HNW/Angel investors, I think reduced investor competition presents the chance to get into deals that you wouldn’t get the opportunity to in other markets, which is a potentially excellent buying opportunity.
