Rapid Growth for Colmax as Leading Glass Recycler Seeks Queensland Expansion

Innovative glass recycler Colmax Glass is looking to expand its Brisbane facility to take advantage of new infrastructure grants in Queensland.

Colmax, which has been rapidly expanding since its inception in 2005, is looking for new equity investors to help fund and share in its growth.

In addition to four plants in Australia, Colmax is also looking at expanding its operations overseas in suitable markets where resource recovery and sustainability for glass recycling is a growing sector.

In Queensland, there is a significant opportunity through the state’s Waste Infrastructure Grants, which can match any Coalmax investment in new equipment.

Colmax produces glass in a variety of colours and grain sizes through a unique and world leading technology, with the glass then sold directly to major manufacturers for a variety of products such as fiberglass insulation batts, glass bottles, road surface lane marketing, water filtration material and abrasives blasting media.

The company’s revenues have increased from around $250,000 in 2007 to just under $4 million last year, and are forecast to achieve $4.5 million in the 2011-12 financial year.

The company will present to investors, brokers and fund managers at the upcoming Wholesale Investor Capital Showcase in Brisbane on April 4.
