KEY TAKEAWAYS:
- Alcidion Group Limited is a software business specialising in health informatics.
- Alcidion acquired MKM Health and Patientrack, two of the largest information technology businesses in the healthcare sector.
- The complete integration is aimed to be achieved by June 2018.
Alcidion Group Limited is a health informatics software company that has made an acquisition of MKM Health and Patientrack. MKM Health is an information technology business that offers products and services digitally to healthcare suppliers in Australia and New Zealand. MKM Health collaborated with Patientrack to be Patientrack’s information technology service provider and sole distributor. Patientrack is a United Kingdom-orientated healthcare software programme
that is aimed at refining patient security.
The acquisition will allow for a new network of technology to be available within the healthcare sector and will provide Alcidion with a larger client base and greater impression globally. Further, the acquisition will allow the company to expand its technology, information technology sales, its products, and its services. Therefore, this will allow Alcidion to increase its profit.
Ms Kate Quirke will be assigned the role of Chief Executive of the newly expanded Alcidion Federation and will be the Executive Director. The current CEO of Alcidion, Ray Blight, will become the Executive Chairman of the enlarged group. The expansion of Alcidion is part of its strategic basis for international recognition. The aim is to improve the proficiency of the
integrated healthcare sector from a business as well as clinical point of view. Completion of the merger between these healthcare information technology companies is expected by the end of June 2018.
